Integration with slitting and processing lines

Match the platform capacity to your heaviest coil or bundle, not the line average, since turnstiles are usually a fixed-position asset that has to handle the full range of material the line processes. For lines running continuous shifts, hydraulic actuation reduces operator fatigue and cycle time over manual rotation; for lower-volume or intermittent use, manual turnstiles are a simpler, lower-maintenance option.

Why rotation beats re-lifting

Without a turnstile, reorienting a coil usually means a second crane lift — setting it down, re-rigging the attachment, and lifting again in the new orientation. That adds cycle time and adds a second lift where something can go wrong. A turnstile keeps the coil supported on the platform throughout the rotation, cutting out the extra lift entirely and freeing the crane for other moves in the meantime.

Construction and duty considerations

Because a turnstile carries the full weight of a coil through a continuous 360° rotation, the platform bearing and drive components see sustained load in a way that's different from equipment doing straight-line transport. For lines processing coils around the clock, factor rotation frequency into the selection alongside capacity — a platform rated for occasional rotation will wear faster under continuous-duty cycling than one specified for the actual usage pattern.
